Fitting Guide

Set up takes as little as 5 minutes

Fitting of the Engine Fire Fighter is quick and easy. Below is a step by step guide with a few handy hints and tips.

Step 1

Thank you for choosing Engine Fire Fighter.

Step 2

Everything you need is in the box. The only tool you may require is a pair of wire cutters to tidy up the cable ties when you are finished.

Step 3

We recommend fitting the hose so you can clearly see the pressure gauge, this is so you can periodically check it.

Step 4

Think about where a fire is most likely to happen and install as much of the hose over these areas as possible. In our experience this is where the fuel pump and carburettor(s) are. Find suitable points above these areas to cable tie the hose to.

Step 5

Make sure you only use plastic cable ties, as they are designed to melt in the case of a fire and allow the hose to drop into the fire area and speed up the process of the hose rupturing.

Step 6

In some cases you may struggle to find suitable places to attach the hose to and you can use self-adhesive cable tie mounts that are available cheaply from places like Screwfix, Toolstation and B&Q etc.

Step 7

If you use the self adhesive mounts, make sure the area you are sticking to is very clean and grease / oil free.

Step 8

Example of where we used  self adhesive mounts.

Step 9

Remember to check the gauge when you are checking the oil level on your engine, or every 6 months.

Where to buy?

We tested lots of different fire safety systems, with real-life fires and the Engine Fire Fighter came out TOP for our tests.

We  have imported them directly and set up “Engine Fire Fighter” so fellow “Petrol Heads” could keep their cars safer too. Find out where you can get them from the link below.
